31/12/2004	Good news for the last day of 2004! India delivered her puppies between 17:00 & 20:00 hrs on 31/12/2004. The litter consists of 8 bitches and 1 dog, all arrived safely and are doing well. All the puppies in this litter have homes arranged for them. Best wishes for the New Year to everyone, and please keep sending us photos of the Messano puppies so that we can put them on our website. We love to see how they are developing as do many of the visitors to our website!
17/12/2004	Eastern Counties Golden Retriever Club, Show Gundog Working Certificate. Judges - Mr Michael Twist & Mr Jim Gale. Sally was entered in the SGWC today and we are pleased to announce that she passed! Requirements for a S.G.W.C. are as follows: The dog has been tested in line The dog has shown that it is not gun shy The dog has hunted, faced cover, produced game and retrieved tenderly to hand The dog entered water freely, swam and retrieved. (If a natural retrieve is not possible a dummy may be used) The dog has not barked or whined in line The dog has been under reasonable control - absolute steadiness is not essential Thanks to Roy & Lindsey Maynard (Chinnordale) for all their help this summer in preparing Sally for the test. She now joins her Grandfather Boysie (Ch Ritzilyn Barrow Boy For Messano) and Great-Uncle Jamie (Messano Blueprint) as our third holder of this award, and the first Messano Bitch.
12/12/2004	Woolwich, Bexley & District Canine Society Premier Open Show. Judge: Mr H. Edwards (Guella). Messano Mustang Sally, 3rd Junior, 3rd Special Yearling. Messano Give Me Faith, 3rd Open. This was Sally's last classes as a Junior, she almost earned a Junior Warrant by winning 22 points out of the 25 required for the award. (3 points per class win at a Championship Show and 1 point per class win at an Open Show where more than 3 dogs are present). Congratulations to George Patey & Donna Palmer's 1st in Puppy today with Messano Northern Soul at Coventry & District Gundog Club Open Show. Well done Joel!
10/12/2004	Ladies Kennel Association Championship Show. Judge: Mrs V. Clarke (Ousevale). Messano Mustang Sally, 3rd Junior Bitch. This was the last Championship Show of 2004.
06/12/2004	Microchipping. Julie has successfully completed a microchipping course, and is now a qualified and fully insured microchipper. Julie will microchip all our future puppies and is also willing to chip other breeders puppies or anyone's adult dogs. Please contact us for details.
05/12/2004	Whitstable & District Canine Society Open Show. Judge: Mr G. Allen (Allenie). Messano Mustang Sally, 1st Junior, 1st Post Graduate, BEST OF BREED. Messano Give Me Faith, 3rd Open. This was Sally's first Best Of Breed.
27/11/2004	West Torrington & District Canine Society Open Show. This was Sally's first show since finishing her season. Judge: Mrs J. May (Cherrygold). Messano Mustang Sally, 3rd Junior, Reserve Post Graduate. Nadine & Pat Barber's Messano Judge For Yourself, 1st Open. Well done Georgia, for winning in a big class!
26/11/2004	Sally (Messano Mustang Sally)spent 6 hours today with Paul training for the Show Gundog Working Certificate, which will be held on 17/12/2004. The training involved hunting for shot birds and retrieving them to hand. It was a very enjoyable but tiring day and Sally really enjoyed doing the work for which the breed was developed. Thanks to Roy and Lindsey Maynard (Chinnordale) for inviting us and teaching us the 'ropes'.
21/11/2004	South West Golden Retriever Club Open Show. We did not attend a show as exhibitors this weekend, Julie had the honour of being invited to judge the SWGRC open show at Yeovilton. There were many nice dogs entered, the total was 104 dogs making 159 entries, although unfortunately the absentee rate was high in some classes. Best of Breed & Best in Show was Lee's Chance Encounter with Denmarella and Best Puppy in Show was Porter's Shearstone Double Delight

31/10/2004	Waverley Gundog Club. We had a short weekend holiday this week, Julie was invited to judge at the Waverley Gundog Show in Edinburgh. We travelled up to Carlisle on Saturday and then continued to Edinburgh the next morning. There was a large entry (101 entries) of quality dogs and Julie eventually chose McAleese's Giogan Mr Bojangles as Best Of Breed. We then had a long journey home, a total of 15 hours travelling over the weekend, but very enjoyable. To see photographs of all the class winners, please click here

20/10/2004	Kensington Canine Society Open Show. Judge: Mrs L. Bennett (Nativegold). Messano Mustang Sally, 1st Junior, 2nd Graduate. Messano Give Me Faith, 2nd Open Bitch. This was Sally's first show since August and Faith's first show for 14 months, so we were pleased with their placings. Sally still needs more coat but this will soon grow.
10/10/2004	We have good news concerning the hip scores of the 'M' litter & Whisper. Messano Mustang Sally has been scored 5-6, Messano Minnie the Moocher is 4-4 & Messano Moment of Truth is 7-2. Fairquest Summer Whisper To Messano also delighted us with a score of 3-3. Sally & Roxy have also been certified with clear eyes. Whisper and Rosie (M.Moment of Truth) are still waiting to be eye tested. Merlin (Messano Magic Master) also has a similar score in Finland with 'B' hips, clear eyes and a 0 elbow score. He has also recently become a father for the first time. Congratulations Merlin!

11/08/2004	United Retriever Club Championship Show. Judge: Mrs Y. Mannings (Gatchells). Messano Mustang Sally, VHC Junior, 3rd Special Yearling, 3rd Undergraduate. Sally also took part in the scurry and returned a very respectable time, we were very pleased with her! Today was also the first show for Pat & Nadine Barber's Messano Nora Batty and although she was unplaced she looked very nice and we are confident that she will have success when she gains confidence in the ring.

01/08/2004	East Of England Ladies Kennel Society Open Show. Judges: Mr J. Tiranti (Garthfield) - Dogs, Mrs L. Walker (Gloi) - Bitches. Messano Mustang Sally, VHC Junior, 3rd Special Yearling, 2nd Graduate. Messano Jitterbug, 1st Open & Res Best Bitch. This was Mopi's first show since April, so we were very pleased with the result. It was also a good day for Jenny Bowden's Messano Indian Gold, who won a 1st in Post Graduate Bitch.

10/07/2004	South Wales Kennel Association Championship Show. Judge: Mrs G. Hewittson (Serulia/Serrest). Messano Mustang Sally, 1st Junior Bitch, 2nd Special Yearling Bitch, 1st graduate Bitch. A very succesful show for Sally today! As an added bonus, Sally's father Ritzilyn Brandon JW was awarded his 3rd CC by Anne Orzel (Braxton) which means he is now Show Champion Ritzilyn Brandon.

14/06/2004	Three Counties Agricultural Society Championship Show. Judge: Mrs Audrey Richardson (Darrachonna). Messano Mustang Sally, 3rd Puppy Bitch, Res Novice Bitch, Res Undergraduate Bitch. The third in Puppy Bitch qualified Sally for Crufts 2005, so we were very pleased with this result today. Sally also beat many of the top winning young bitches today, so al-in-all, a very successful day. Sally and Roxy's father, Ritzilyn Brandon JW, was awarded the Dog CC today. One more and he will be a Show Champion!

Fairquest Summer Whisper To Messano, Res Junior Bitch. In Finland, Messano High Society (Friia), won Best Bitch and Reserve Best Of Breed. Messano Magic Master (Merlin), won the Junior Dog class at the same show (Virkkala).

30/05/2004	Samoyed Recue Companion Show. We did not have a show entered today so we took Roxy and Sally to this show, so that Paul could practice handling with Roxy. Roxy looked okay with Paul and as a bonus, Sally was also awarded Best Puppy In Show.

22/05/2004	Faith (Messano Give Me Faith), has become a Grand-Mother for the first time today! Congratulations to Mary Neil and Klos (Messano Keep A Secret from Moloko) on the birth of 10 puppies, 8 males & 2 females. Klos was mated to Sh Ch Eyevalley Cannyman. 16/05/2004	Loughborough & District Canine Society Open Show. Judge: Mrs M. Pett (Rumwood). Fairquest Summer Whisper To Messano (imp), Res Puppy (12 entries). Messano Mustang Sally, 3rd Junior. Held outside in glorious sunshine. Although both girls were placed at the lower end of the awards this week, it was a very high quality entry and many nice dogs were unplaced.

This was Whisper's first show and although only placed reserve, we could not have expected more from her at her first show. She behaved herself very well and received many nice comments from other exhibitors.

30/04/2004	Today was the day we have been waiting for many months to arrive! We collected Fairquest Summer Whisper To Messano from Heathrow airport after her arrival in the UK on the Pet Passport scheme. Whisper was bred by Catharina Rantanen of Kennel Fairquest in Finland and we are indebted to her for her kindness in allowing Whisper to join us in the UK after spending the first 10 months of her life in Finland, due to the UK quarantine regulations. Whisper will now join our show-team at Messano and hope that she will be happy and successful with us.

04/03/2004	Yorkshire Golden Retriever Club Championship Show. Judge: Mrs R. Rains (Gunhills). Messano Mustang Sally, short-listed to the last few in a class of 30 Puppy Bitches. Messano Minnie The Moocher, Reserve in a class of 30 Novice Bitches. The sire of the 'N' litter puppies, Ronjalee Rag Trade, was awarded the dog Challenge Certificate (his fourth), from the Open Dog class (Judge: Tony Hird, Wyebank) and on the agreement of the co-judge, was awarded Best In Show. Well done Trager!

14/02/2004	Today the puppies father, Trager, was awarded the CC and Best In Show at the Golden Retriever Club of Wales Championship Show. This was Tragers 3rd CC, so he will now be known as Show Champion Ronjalee Rag Trade JW. Well done Trager and Jackie!
04/02/2004	Faith's puppies have arrived! She has given birth to a healthy litter of 10, consisting of 7 bitches and 3 dogs. They were born 3 days early, but were all large puppies ranging from 15 - 18 ozs.
01/02/2004	After a short but very successful show career, Keeper (Messano Keepsake) has taken early retirement. A very special dog, with a unique character, he has now made himself very much at home with Jan, Brian and Ben (Messano Master Mason). He is very much missed by us all at Messano but we are pleased that he has settled in so well with his new family. For photos of Keeper with his new family, please click here. 01/01/2004	Coventry Ladies Kennel Society Premier Open Show. Judge: Mr Mark Cooper (Loremar). Messano Minnie The Moocher, 2nd Minor Puppy (9 entries). Messano Mustang Sally, 2nd Puppy (7 entries). This was a very satisfactory result in a very high-quality entry and both the girls continue to be placed in the top end of the results.
